Game Mechanics & Rules

Three Bet Hold is a five-card poker variant in which the player places three equal bets at the start. The player receives three hole cards and two shared community cards are revealed sequentially. Before each community card reveal, the player may withdraw one of the first two bets or Hold. The third bet is mandatory. Winning hands require a pair of tens or better, with payouts scaling to Royal Flush at 1000:1.

  1. Place three equal bets (Bet 1, Bet 2, Bet 3) of identical size before cards are dealt. Optionally add a side bet.
  2. Three hole cards are dealt face up to the player; two community cards are placed face down.
  3. After seeing your three hole cards, choose to withdraw Bet 1 or Hold.
  4. The first community card is revealed, giving four cards. Choose to withdraw Bet 2 or Hold.
  5. The second and final community card is revealed, completing the five-card hand.
  6. All bets remaining in play (plus Bet 3 always) pay according to the pay table on hands of a pair of tens or better. Withdrawn bets are returned regardless of outcome.

Optimal Strategy & Analysis

Optimal Bet 1 (three-card) decisions: let ride with any paying hand (pair of tens or better), any three-card royal flush, any three-card straight flush, and any three high cards that include at least one ace or face card matched to a same-suit draw. Fold Bet 1 on all other three-card holdings.

Optimal Bet 2 (four-card) decisions: let ride with any paying hand (pair of tens or better), any four-card flush, any four-card open-ended straight, and any four-card royal flush or straight flush draw. Fold Bet 2 on all four-card inside straights without premium cards and all hands below a paying threshold with no strong draw component. Four-card draws to royal flush and straight flush warrant letting Bet 2 ride regardless of current hand strength.

Bet 3 is mandatory and cannot be withdrawn. The strategic complexity of Three Bet Hold is concentrated in the Bet 1 and Bet 2 decisions. A player who always lets both bets ride surrenders significant EV compared to optimal withdrawal play because the hands requiring withdrawal represent negative-EV commitments at the three- and four-card stages.

Volatility is high due to the pay table structure. The majority of hands result in losses (fewer than 25% of hands hit tens or better), but premium hands at full three-bet investment deliver substantial returns. Royal Flush at 1000:1 on a three-unit bet pays 3000 units. Session bankroll of 75-100 units (each unit being one of the three equal bets) is recommended to manage session variance.

Provably Fair Verification

Three Bet Hold hand generation uses SHA-256(server_seed + ':' + client_seed + ':' + nonce) to produce a deterministic deck shuffle. The first three indices in the output sequence are assigned to player hole cards; the next two to community cards in reveal order (first community, second community). All five cards are fixed before the hand begins; the sequential community card reveal is a presentation mechanic, not a new randomness draw.

Players verify hands post-session by applying the revealed server seed, client seed, and nonce to a SHA-256 tool and reconstructing card indices via WickedBet's published deck-mapping algorithm. The complete five-card hand - including both community cards - is derivable from the single hash output for each hand nonce. This means the community cards could not have been changed based on the player's Bet 1 or Bet 2 decisions.

Millionaire Mode is a paid $1 Royal Spades side bet that runs alongside the round; it does not reduce your main Three Bet Hold payouts. Whatever the seeded deck sequence places in those positions is exactly what the check sees. The Joker never counts; only natural target-suit cards score.

Millionaire Mode Technical Details

Millionaire Mode is a paid $1 Royal Spades side bet added to every round. Main-table payouts are NOT reduced. Main bets must total at least $1 USD for the side bet to attach.

Each round, the cards dealt for the side bet are checked. The Royal Spades are the six top spades - 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of spades. Every distinct Royal Spade among the dealt cards counts as one hit; a repeated rank does not count twice and the Joker never counts.

Paytable per $1 side bet: 6 hits = $1,000,000; 5 hits = $5,000; 4 hits = $325; 3 hits = $20; 2 hits = $2; 0 or 1 hits pay nothing.

The $1,000,000 prize is pre-funded and paid in a single transaction on six hits. Lower tiers pay alongside the round settlement. The Royal Spades result is independent of the main-game outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

What side bets does Three Bet Hold offer and what are their payouts?

Five side bets are available: Player's Three, Color Sweep, Colour Bonus, All Even, Royal Edge. Each is an independent wager placed before the round and settles on its own outcome, regardless of the main result.

What is Three Bet Hold and how does it work?

Before each community card reveal, the player may withdraw one of the first two bets. Bet 3 is always in play. Winning hands require a pair of tens or better; payouts scale to Royal Flush at 1000:1 on each active bet. The game has no dealer hand.

How does Millionaire Mode function in Three Bet Hold?

Millionaire Mode is a paid $1 Royal Spades side bet per round. Main-table payouts are NOT reduced. Each round the dealt cards are checked; every distinct Royal Spade - 9, 10, J, Q, K, A of spades - is one hit (the Joker never counts). Paytable: 6 hits = $1,000,000, 5 = $5,000, 4 = $325, 3 = $20, 2 = $2, 0-1 = no payout. The jackpot is pre-funded.

How can I verify Three Bet Hold is provably fair?

All five cards are determined before the hand begins via SHA-256(server_seed + ':' + client_seed + ':' + nonce). Open the fairness panel for your server seed hash, client seed, and nonce. Post-session, apply the revealed server seed to reconstruct all five cards for any hand. Community card reveals cannot be changed based on Bet 1 or Bet 2 decisions - the sequence is fixed pre-deal.
